Review

Rating: 5

I’d like to like Christopher Moore. He seems clever enough, and Not So gave one of his other books a glowing review. When I saw Practical Demonkeeping on sale at Powell’s, I figured what the hell?

Unfortunately, the best thing I can say about it is “Meh.” It isn’t bad. The plot is…plotty. The dialog is clever, the characters…you get the picture. It’s just not particularly good.

It’s Moore’s first novel, so I’m willing to assume he’s gotten better since. Still, I’m not chomping at the bit to read his other stuff. Perhaps come holiday time I’ll be in the mood for “The Stupidest Angel.”
