I should give this a higher rating. It’s not Jasper Fforde’s fault I skipped the book between The Eyre Affair and this one and spent much of my reading time mildly confused. Still, I don’t feel like this was as well-plotted or as funny as The Eyre Affair (although it did have me snortling out loud a couple of times). I’d definitely recommend it, but not unless you’ve read the books previous. All of them.
